Nasarawa Governor Endorses Wadada for 2027 Election

On Thursday, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State publicly declared Senator Aliyu Wadada as his preferred candidate for the 2027 governorship election. This decision was made during a meeting with political appointees at the Government House in Lafia.

Governor Sule's endorsement followed extensive consultations conducted last year, which involved various stakeholders, including investors, youth groups, women's organizations, traditional rulers, and party officials across the three senatorial districts of the state. After narrowing down the candidates to three, Wadada was selected based on his perceived capacity to win the election.

Governor Sule urged political appointees to prioritize party support over personal interests and emphasized the importance of unity in the upcoming electoral process. He also expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu's performance in Nasarawa State during the 2027 presidential election.

Labaran Shuaibu Magaji, the Secretary to the State Government, indicated readiness to support the governor's position regarding Wadada, who currently represents the Nasarawa West senatorial district on the platform of the Progressive Congress.
