Sule Supports Successor Ahead of APC Primaries in 2027

Abdullahi Sule, the Governor of Nasarawa State, defended his support for a preferred successor in a statewide broadcast in Lafia on Friday. He stated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has adopted direct primaries to select its candidates for the 2027 general elections.

Sule explained that this decision was made to ensure fair and equal opportunities for all aspirants. He stressed that his endorsement of a candidate does not prevent others from contesting in the primaries and that it is crucial to maintain a credible contest.

Sule urged APC members to support political party youth and community leaders while warning against hate speech, intimidation, and the spread of false information. He called on security agencies to remain neutral during the elections and encouraged the youth not to allow themselves to be used for violence.

Sule noted that political engagements ahead of the 2027 elections have already begun across various political blocs in the state.
