2027: New Parties As Game Changer

INEC has begun shortlisting associations that meet the criteria for registering as political parties ahead of the 2027 general election. A total of 151 applications have been received, with notable parties like the Democratic Alliance (ADA), Obidient Peoples Party (OPP), and Progressive Obidient Party (POP) linked to prominent political figures.

However, some applications have been found to violate INEC guidelines, such as using identical names or submitting multiple applications with different leadership.
