David Mark: Nigerians Losing Faith in INEC Ahead of 2027

David Mark, the former Senate President, stated that Nigerians have lost confidence in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) during a summit held in Ibadan, Oyo State, on a Saturday. He accused INEC of no longer being an impartial umpire, alleging that it has taken sides and is suppressing opposition political parties, particularly the Action Democratic Congress (ADC) and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Mark urged leaders of opposition parties to unite in their efforts to unseat the current administration led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 elections. He emphasized that the APC will continue to suppress opposition figures, making it difficult for them to win elections.

Prominent leaders from various opposition parties attended the summit, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Minister Jerry Gana, activist Aisha Yesufu, and several former governors, highlighting the collective concern regarding INEC's role in the electoral process.
