Ondo APC Demands Unified Support for Tinubu in 2027

The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a warning to its members against the practice of supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election while simultaneously backing opposition candidates for legislative positions. This warning follows the Rainbow Coalition's decision to support Tinubu while fielding candidates on other political platforms, which the Ondo APC believes could jeopardize the party's electoral interests.

In a statement from State Secretary Alex Kalejaye, the APC emphasized that members must provide total support for all candidates, including Tinubu, three senatorial candidates, nine House of Representatives candidates, and 26 House of Assembly candidates. Kalejaye stated that any anti-party activities would lead to sanctions, urging members to avoid actions that could create disunity.

The party aims to secure at least one million votes in Ondo State and stressed the importance of unity and mobilization ahead of the elections, warning that a coalition supporting Tinubu on one platform while backing other candidates on different platforms could lead to confusion on election day.
