Otuaro Urges Ijaw Youths to Support Tinubu for 2027

On a recent occasion in Abuja, Dennis Otuaro, the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, called on the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) to rally support for President Bola Tinubu's re-election campaign ahead of the 2027 elections. Otuaro made this appeal during a visit from the newly inaugurated leadership of the IYC, led by President Doubra Okotete.

He articulated that backing Tinubu for a second term aligns with the strategic interests of the Ijaw people and the broader Niger Delta region. Otuaro cautioned against divisions that could undermine the region's political strength, urging the IYC to maintain unity.

He stated, “2027 is already here. Let us back the President and mobilise for him to win a second term.” Additionally, he praised the IYC and other stakeholders for their support of the agency's peacebuilding initiatives.

In response, Okotete acknowledged the successes of the PAP under Otuaro's leadership, particularly in youth education and empowerment, and expressed the IYC's readiness to enhance collaboration with the PAP.
