Oyo APC Aspirant Abdullah Bello Pledges Party Support

Abdullah Bello, an aspirant for the Irepo/Orelope/Olorunsogo Federal Constituency under the All Progressives Congress (APC), announced his decision to support the party for the 2027 general elections despite claiming irregularities in the primary process. This decision followed a reconciliation meeting convened by the APC National Chairman and the National Working Committee (NWC) with approximately 42 aspirants from Oyo State's 33 local government areas.

Bello stated that the NWC acknowledged the "manifest irregularities and injustices" in the nomination process, admitting that no candidate emerged through a credible process. He expressed concerns about the imposed candidate in his constituency lacking the necessary political capital and public credibility.

Nevertheless, after consultations with stakeholders, Bello resolved to prioritize party unity and electoral victory over his personal ambitions. He clarified that his decision to step down should not be seen as surrender and reaffirmed his commitment to the APC, urging his supporters to remain disciplined and avoid anti-party activities.
