PDP Accuses Nigerian Government of Sabotaging 2027 Elections

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the Nigerian government, led by President Bola Tinubu, of deliberately orchestrating internal crises to prevent the party from participating in the 2027 general elections. This allegation was made by Ali Odefa, the party's South East Vice Chairman, during the inauguration of the Abia State PDP caretaker committee.

Odefa asserted that the ongoing disputes within the PDP are not coincidental but part of a calculated plan by the federal government to weaken the opposition. He urged party members to remain loyal and patient amid these challenges, stating that there are forces intent on destroying the PDP.

Odefa expressed confidence that the judiciary would resolve the crises in favor of the party, describing the courts as the last hope for justice in Nigeria. He tasked the newly inaugurated Abia State caretaker committee, led by Ikegbu Emeka, with the responsibility of rebuilding the party in the state, emphasizing the importance of unity and sacrifice among members as they prepare for the upcoming elections.
