PDP Accuses Tinubu of Excluding Party from 2027 Elections

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the government of President Bola Tinubu of orchestrating a plan to exclude the party from participating in the 2027 general elections. This claim was made by Ali Odefa, the South East Vice Chairman of the PDP, during the inauguration of the Abia State PDP caretaker committee, which took place at the party's zonal office in Enugu on Tuesday.

Odefa highlighted ongoing disputes within the party, asserting that these issues are not accidental but part of a deliberate strategy by the federal government to weaken the opposition. He urged party members to remain loyal and patient despite the challenges faced.

Odefa expressed confidence that the judiciary would resolve the party's crises favorably, as it remains the last hope for justice in Nigeria. The newly inaugurated Abia State caretaker committee, led by Chairman Ikegbu Emeka, aims to rebuild the party in the state.

The committee includes Felix Nwagbara as Secretary and other notable members. The event was attended by various PDP stakeholders, including Chief James Ugwu.
