Village Boys Movement Launches in Abuja for 2027 Elections

On Thursday, the Village Boys Movement was launched in Abuja, supporting value-based leadership as Nigeria approaches the 2027 presidential elections. Convened by Maaz Tochukwu Ezeok, the movement aims to address grassroots mobilization efforts and promote a political culture focused on accountability and value creation rather than mere access to power.

Ezeok outlined three core principles guiding the movement: wealth follows value, power follows service, and leadership follows accountability. He criticized the current political landscape, contrasting it with the "city boy culture" and emphasizing the need for ethical leadership.

The movement supports figures like Peter Obi, praising his fiscal prudence during his tenure as governor of Anambra State. The Village Boys Movement plans to organize a two-million-man march across Nigeria's 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, focusing on civic education and encouraging young Nigerians to reject electoral inducement and intimidation.

The motto of the movement is "Unbought, Unafraid, Unstoppable," reflecting its commitment to resist political patronage.
