Dr Ideyi Gamax is ADC Candidate for Ebonyi South 2027

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ebonyi State conducted a primary election for the Ebonyi South Senatorial District on August 20, 2026, where Dr Ideyi Prince Gamax emerged as the party's candidate for the 2027 general elections. He was the sole aspirant, receiving a total of 450 votes.

The result was announced by Dr Victor Uduma, the Returning Officer and Deputy Chairman of the ADC in Ebonyi State, who noted the enthusiasm of party members during the process. Gamax previously emerged as the candidate in an earlier primary held on April 22, 2026, and expressed confidence that the ADC would win the upcoming election, citing a strong desire for change among the electorate.

Dr Jennifer Adibe-Nwafor, the ADC state chairman, confirmed that the primary was peaceful and well-monitored, and clarified that this substitution primary was necessary due to an alteration in the party's earlier process. She also stated that the party would participate in the local government elections scheduled for August 22, 2026.
