2027 presidency should be zoned to North-Central – Group

The political pressure group, Aegis Renaissance Movement (NCRM), has called for the zoning of the 2027 presidency to the North-Central region of the country. The Chairman of the group, Ktso Nghargbu, made this appeal in Abuja, urging Nigerians to raise their expectations for the country's leaders.

Nghargbu specifically directed the appeal towards parties like the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Action Democratic Congress (ADC), and Social Democratic Party (SDP). He emphasized that the right of President Bola Tinubu to seek a second term should not overshadow the need for zoning the presidency to a region that has not produced a civilian President since independence.

Nghargbu highlighted the importance of breaking the cycle of political underdogs in Nigeria's geopolitical zones.
