Natasha Akpoti Calls for PDP Defectors to Rebuild Party

Natasha Akpoti, addressing members of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) during the inauguration of the party's national convention committee in Abuja, called on defectors to return and help rebuild the party. She highlighted the party's decline, noting that it currently holds only 37 out of 109 Senate seats due to leadership crises and internal disputes.

Akpoti expressed hope that the event would mark a turning point for the PDP, which has faced challenges in recent years. She urged members to engage in honest reconciliation and to move beyond past grievances, emphasizing the importance of mutual respect and truth in rebuilding the party.

Victor Ikpeazu, the chairman of the convention committee and former governor of Abia State, acknowledged the internal challenges and legal battles faced by the party, while stressing that the current situation presents a fresh opportunity for renewal and unity among members.
