PDP Leaders Urged to Embrace Dialogue for 2027 Elections

On Tuesday, Senator Natasha Akpoti called for leaders of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to engage in dialogue and strengthen the party in light of a recent court judgment. Speaking in Abuja through her media aide Mike Idoko, she urged party members nationwide to view the judgment as an opportunity to restore unity and enhance internal democracy within the PDP as it prepares for the 2027 general elections.

Akpoti highlighted that prolonged legal battles within the party undermine the aspirations of loyal members who wish to contest elections on the PDP platform. She emphasized the importance of shifting focus from litigation to reconciliation to rebuild the party's strength.

Akpoti warned that internal disputes should not derail the ambitions of party members and called for a commitment to inclusivity and credible leadership. She also urged stakeholders to comply with guidelines from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure a successful national convention.
