Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan Calls for PDP Unity Amid Defections

Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan, a senator representing Kogi Central, has attributed the recent defections from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to ongoing internal crises within the party. Speaking at the PDP's convention committee inauguration in Abuja on Saturday, she highlighted that the party has lost 31 lawmakers in the Senate due to these prolonged issues.

Uduaghan expressed her concern over the significant decline in the party's representation in the Senate, noting that the situation was exacerbated by leadership crises. Despite these challenges, she conveyed optimism about the party's future, stating that the inauguration could mark a turning point for the PDP.

Former Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu also spoke at the event, describing it as a critical moment in the party's history and urging members to focus on reconciliation and unity. He emphasized the importance of addressing internal disputes and restoring confidence within the party as they prepare for the 2027 general elections.
