Senator Jarigb Advocates Issue-Based Campaigns for 2027

On Saturday, during a gathering in Calabar, Cross River State, Senator Agom Jarigb, representing the Cross River North Senatorial District, urged for issue-based campaigns ahead of the 2027 general elections. He emphasized the importance of civil decorum and called on political actors to refrain from insults and personal attacks, particularly against his opponent, former governor Ben Ayade.

Jarigb expressed gratitude for the support he has received and highlighted the need for a respectful political atmosphere, urging stakeholders to avoid mudslinging. He warned that the political climate is already tense and that divisive rhetoric could exacerbate tensions.

Jarigb also called for unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC) and urged fellow aspirants to engage with grassroots sentiments. He reminded them of the moral responsibilities of leadership and the importance of maintaining dignity in political discourse.

The Cross River North Senatorial District, comprising five local government areas, is expected to witness a highly contested race, with Jarigb previously winning a fierce contest in 2021.
