Jarigbe Challenges Ayade's Political Claims in Cross River

Agom Jarigbe, the current senator representing Cross River North, has launched a strong rebuttal against former governor Ben Ayade's recent remarks, which Jarigbe claims misrepresent facts and attempt to reshape the political narrative. In a statement issued on Monday via Facebook, Jarigbe dismissed Ayade's allegations of inconsistency regarding the current political landscape.

He referenced past interactions and criticized Ayade's previous choices, asserting that Ayade's support base is not as strong as claimed, particularly among Muslim voters in the region. Jarigbe highlighted that the electoral outcomes during Ayade's tenure as governor did not favor his political camp, noting that the political structure in the district is weak.

He also disputed Ayade's claims of contributing to the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, pointing out Ayade's failure to deliver the state during the general elections. Jarigbe accused Ayade of abandoning the senatorial seat for personal ambitions and praised the leadership of the People's Democratic Party for resisting Ayade's attempts to impose his agenda.
