NDC Condemns Attack on Members in Enugu State

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Enugu State condemned an attack on its members by suspected political thugs, labeling it a clear act of political thuggery. The incident took place at Ihuani Awkunanaw in Obuofia, Nkanu Council Area, during a state-wide monthly ward meeting attended by party members.

Media aide to the party's candidate, Sir Christian Chinyeaka Ohaa, Sampson Ukwu, reported that hoodlums invaded the venue and opened fire, injuring eight individuals: Onovo Donald Ekene, Ngene Godwin Madueke, Ogbodo Gloria, Onovo Victor, Maduabuchi Ugwu, Nnaemeka Nelson, Chinonso Nwagbara, and Obinna Daniel Owo. The NDC urged the Enugu State Police Command, the Department of State Services (DSS), and other security agencies to investigate the attack and apprehend the perpetrators.

Ohaa emphasized that the NDC would not be intimidated and would continue its peaceful campaign, asserting that such violence against political opposition is unacceptable.
