Adebayo Claims Tinubu Has Defeated Himself Ahead of 2027

Adewole Adebayo, the presidential candidate for the Social Democratic Party (SDP), declared in an interview on Channels Television's 'Sunday Politics' that President Bola Tinubu has "defeated himself" in the lead-up to the 2027 general election. Adebayo characterized the Tinubu administration as outgoing, suggesting it is merely waiting to complete its four-year term.

He criticized the administration for its inability to effectively address critical issues such as poverty, insecurity, and governance challenges, asserting that these failures have undermined the fundamental purpose of government. Adebayo urged Nigerians to prioritize national issues over political personalities as the election campaigns intensify.

He emphasized that his focus is on uniting Nigerians rather than merely forming an opposition coalition. Furthermore, he stated that the outcome of the 2027 election will hinge on voter participation and confidence in the electoral process, asserting that the current state of insecurity, hunger, and economic difficulties indicates that President Tinubu's administration is already on the path to defeat.
