Duke Critiques Tinubu's Governance Ahead of 2027 Elections

Donald Duke, the former Governor of Cross River State and current presidential candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), stated that President Bola Tinubu has lost public sympathy since the 2023 presidential election. During an appearance on Channels Television, Duke criticized Tinubu's governance, asserting that it has exposed weaknesses in his administration.

He noted that economic difficulties have led to widespread dissatisfaction among Nigerians, with many feeling disillusioned by Tinubu's leadership. Duke acknowledged Tinubu's political strength but emphasized that his governance has been weak over the past three years.

He warned against granting Tinubu another term, citing potential further deterioration in living conditions. Duke also stressed the importance of opposition parties resolving internal differences to effectively challenge Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 elections.

He expressed his willingness to withdraw from the presidential race if a more suitable candidate emerges from the opposition.
