Showunmi Claims Tinubu Outshines Opposition Candidates

Segun Showunmi, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), asserted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is "a thousand times wiser" than opposition presidential candidates Atiku Abubakar of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and Peter Obi of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Showunmi made these remarks in response to public concern regarding Tinubu's health and his comments at the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council, where he suggested he might not attend all campaign rallies.

During a press briefing in Abuja, Showunmi expressed confidence that Tinubu would defeat his opponents in the upcoming presidential election scheduled for January 16, 2027. He stated that Tinubu's absence from rallies would not hinder his chances, suggesting that voters could still see him on television or visit him at Aso Rock.
