Tinubu Forecasted to Win 20 States in 2027 Election

The Political Intelligence Group (PIG) of Politico.ng has forecasted that President Bola Tinubu, representing the All Progressives Congress (APC), is positioned to win 20 states in the upcoming 2027 presidential election. In contrast, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is projected to secure nine states, while Peter Obi, the candidate from the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), is expected to win eight states.

The analysis assumes the election occurs in September under current political conditions. Tinubu is anticipated to dominate all six South-West states, including Lagos, and gain significant support in the North, particularly in Kano.

PIG attributes Tinubu's projected success to perceived economic stabilization efforts. Atiku Abubakar, representing the African Democratic Congress (ADC), is expected to draw support from Northern Nigeria, while Peter Obi's campaign will focus on accountability and economic management.

The forecast emphasizes that various factors, including coalition arrangements and public sentiment, could influence the electoral landscape before the election.
