SDP Leader Criticizes Tinubu's Insecurity Response, Calls for New Leadership in 2027

Adewole Adebayo, the leader of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has strongly criticized President Bola Tinubu's approach to tackling insecurity in Nigeria. Adebayo highlighted the increasing vulnerability of Nigeria due to what he described as weak and negligent leadership.

He emphasized the need for data-driven security plans and criticized Tinubu for not demonstrating a clear understanding of his constitutional role as the commander-in-chief. Adebayo accused Tinubu of failing to supervise the armed forces properly and articulate a coherent national security plan.

He also warned against Nigeria's overdependence on foreign cooperation, urging a more proactive and sovereignty-driven approach to security challenges. Adebayo further condemned corruption within security institutions, attributing it to the nation's sustained insecurity.

He called for a new political class to replace the current elite, urging voters to prioritize people-centric leadership in the upcoming elections.
