Wike Declares Tinubu Unbeatable in FCT for 2027 Elections

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), asserted on Wednesday that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is "unbeatable" in the FCT for the upcoming 2027 elections. Speaking to journalists in Abuja after inspecting ongoing projects across satellite towns, Wike noted the difficulty for any opposition to win elections in the FCT against Tinubu.

He attributed the growing support for the administration to its deliberate policies aimed at extending development beyond the city center to rural and satellite communities. Wike expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of ongoing projects, which he believes have positively impacted residents' lives.

He highlighted several road projects, including a major corridor spanning 30 kilometers, which will improve economic activity and reduce travel time between satellite towns and the city center. Wike also dismissed calls for the establishment of a new regulatory agency, insisting that existing institutions are sufficient to address problems in Nigeria.
