Tinubu Allegedly Plans to Move Nigeria's Capital to Lagos

Timi Frank, the former deputy national public secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has alleged that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu plans to relocate Nigeria's capital from Abuja to Lagos upon his re-election in 2027. Frank made this claim in a statement on Monday, criticizing Tinubu's governance and describing the administration's focus on Lagos as a clear agenda that sidelines other regions.

He warned that such a trend could undermine national unity and contribute to regional divisions, particularly between the north, south, and southeast. Frank emphasized that no president in Nigeria's history has divided the country along regional and ethnic lines as Tinubu's administration has, which he believes has led to economic weakening and increased alienation among citizens.

He also mentioned that Tinubu's long-term plans appear to concentrate political and economic power in Lagos, raising concerns about the implications for other regions.
