APC Chieftain Alleges Tinubu Plans Capital Move to Lagos

Timi Frank, a former deputy national secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), claimed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu intends to relocate Nigeria's capital from Abuja to Lagos following the 2027 elections. Frank criticized Tinubu's leadership for allegedly favoring Lagos State over other regions, suggesting that the current administration's policies are concentrated on Lagos, which could weaken national unity and exacerbate existing regional divisions.

He pointed out that there has been a lack of major federal initiatives across various sectors, including agriculture in the north, industrial development in the southeast, and oil and gas in the south-south. Frank warned that this approach could deepen ethnic tensions and impoverish certain regions, particularly the north and southeast, ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.

As of the report, there has been no official response from President Tinubu regarding these allegations, nor any formal policy proposals from the federal government indicating plans to move the capital.
