2027: Tinubu will win via Muslim-Muslim ticket – APC chieftain

APC chieftain Haruna Yerima has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will win the 2027 presidential election with Vice President Kashim Shettima as his running mate. Yerima's optimism comes in response to the Northern Ethnic Nationality Forum's suggestion that Tinubu should drop Shettima to avoid a Muslim-Muslim ticket.

The group also recommended Tinubu choose a Christian from Plateau, Benue, or Taraba states to allay fears of an Islamisation agenda. Yerima dismissed these concerns as unfounded, calling them "insane" and "jaundiced amateur political permutation." He criticized the group's claim that an Atiku Abubakar-Peter Obi ticket could defeat Tinubu-Shettima, labeling it as baseless.

Yerima emphasized that the APC is not at risk of losing the election and that the NENF's statement lacks empirical backing.
