Folashade Tinubu-Ojo Mobilizes Support for 2027 Elections

Chief Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, the Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, is spearheading a grassroots political campaign to support her father, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in his re-election bid for the 2027 general elections. The campaign, organized under the Market Women and Men initiative, is set to formally launch this month.

It aims to consolidate support from traditional trade associations, artisan guilds, student bodies, and transport operators for the President and all candidates representing the All Progressives Congress. Additionally, the campaign will support Lagos State Deputy Governor Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat and other ruling party candidates for legislative seats in Lagos.

Omofunmilewa AdeJombo, the Director-General of the Lagos chapter, stated that the campaign will engage delegates from transport unions, civil society organizations, and trade groups across all 57 local government and council development areas in Lagos. The initiative seeks to address the concerns of traders facing rising costs and leverage Tinubu-Ojo's connections among market leaders to promote federal economic programs and support for micro-retailers.
