Tinubu's Patron Amusan Declares Ogun Governorship Bid

Jelili Amusan, a patron of the Tinubu Nation Think Tank and founder of the JKA support group, announced his candidacy for the Ogun State governorship in the 2027 elections during a press briefing in Abeokuta on Thursday. He expressed a commitment to contributing meaningfully to the state's development and emphasized the importance of adhering to electoral laws.

Amusan, a former two-term member of the House of Representatives representing Odeda/Obafemi Owode/Abeokuta North, has previously contested for the Ogun Central senatorial seat and the Ogun State governorship. He aims to leverage his extensive political network and grassroots structure to support his campaign.

Amusan outlined his vision for Ogun State, focusing on economic development, job creation, education, infrastructure improvement, and healthcare delivery. He highlighted the state's economic potential and the need for transparent leadership to unlock opportunities.

His campaign strategy includes consulting across local government party structures to build support ahead of the primaries.
