Warri Constituents Urge Lawuru to Run for Reps in 2027

During a press conference held at Bon Hotel de Tranquil in Udu on Monday, constituents from Warri, representing the three major ethnic groups—Ijaw, Urhobo, and Itsekiri—urged Chief Promis Lawuru, a prominent APC chieftain, to contest for the House of Representatives seat in the 2027 general elections. The appeal was made by the Warri Feder Constitu People Forum (WFCPF), led by Dcn Godspow Benekiegha, who emphasized Lawuru's extensive humanitarian work and leadership qualities.

The forum expressed that Lawuru's candidacy would restore trust and confidence among the constituents. They commended Delta State Governor Hon Sheriff Oborevwori for his pragmatic leadership and acknowledged the need for a new approach to address economic challenges.

The constituents also highlighted Lawuru's philanthropic efforts and called for a campaign that empowers the community. Various leaders from the Warri region expressed their support for Lawuru's potential candidacy, emphasizing the importance of women in leadership roles.
