APGA Endorses Tinubu for 2027 Presidential Election

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has officially declared its intent to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in the upcoming 2027 presidential election. This announcement was made public by APGA's national chairman, Sly Ezeokenwa, during a television interview.

Ezeokenwa confirmed that the party, led by Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo, will not field a presidential candidate in the next electoral cycle, reflecting a strategic alignment with the All Progressives Congress (APC). He noted that the decision was not sudden and aligns with APGA's long-standing ideological position.

Ezeokenwa highlighted the need for stronger political alliances, particularly given that the Southeast region contributed less than 10 percent of the total votes in the 2023 elections. He emphasized that no region can secure the presidency in isolation and that collaboration across geopolitical zones is essential for Nigeria's political structure.

The endorsement is pending formal ratification through the party's national convention.
