APGA to Endorse Tinubu for 2027 Presidential Election

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has announced its intention to adopt Bola Tinubu as its presidential candidate for the 2027 elections. This disclosure was made by APGA's national chairman, Sly Ezeokenwa, during a press briefing in Lagos, where he addressed questions regarding the party's decision.

Ezeokenwa highlighted the recent amendments to the electoral act, particularly the provisions for direct primaries, which he believes will enhance the electoral process. He noted that APGA's move to endorse Tinubu reflects the faith shown by the party and aligns with their shared ideologies.

Ezeokenwa also referenced the party's past decision to adopt former President Goodluck Jonathan as its candidate in the 2011 and 2015 elections. He emphasized that the new electoral law would strengthen political party ideologies and urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure credible elections.

The party's primary congress is set to take place within 21 days, as per the electoral act.
