APC Governors Reject Cross-Party Alliances for 2027 Elections

The Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), composed of governors elected under the All Progressives Congress (APC), has firmly rejected any cross-party alliances or external political arrangements in preparation for the 2027 general elections. Following a closed-door meeting in Abuja, PGF Chairman and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma stated that the forum is dedicated to utilizing the party's official structures to ensure victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates.

The governors unanimously resolved not to participate in or endorse any political arrangements that could undermine the re-election of President Tinubu or weaken the APC. Uzodimma emphasized that their electoral mandate is tied strictly to candidates produced by the party, warning against competing interests.

He reiterated that the governors' campaign efforts will align with the directives of President Tinubu and the APC leadership. In a related note, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike expressed his support for Tinubu's re-election, clarifying that he never promised the PDP would not field candidates in the upcoming elections.
