Kebbi State Government Condemns Political Violence Ahead of 2027

The Kebbi State Government has issued a strong warning against political thuggery and violence in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections. Abdullahi Idris Zuru, the Special Adviser to Governor Nasir Idris on Communication and Strategy, made this statement in Birnin Kebbi following violent incidents in Jega, where properties were damaged by suspected political thugs.

Zuru condemned the violence and called for an investigation by security agencies to hold accountable those responsible, regardless of their political affiliations. He urged all political parties, their supporters, community leaders, and stakeholders to exercise restraint and avoid actions that could escalate tensions.

Zuru emphasized that political differences should be resolved through dialogue and lawful democratic processes rather than confrontation. He warned against any acts that could undermine public peace and security, stating that the government would collaborate with security agencies and traditional institutions to ensure the safety of lives and property in Kebbi State.
