Rivers Elders Back Fubara's Re-election with APC Forms

The re-election bid for Governor Fubara of Rivers State has commenced as elders from the region secured nomination forms from the All Progressives Congress (APC). Hon. Awaji Inombek Abiant, representing the Andoni/Opobo Nkoro federal constituency, purchased the forms on Tuesday and addressed journalists shortly after.

He described the elders' actions as a compelling representation of the populace's desire for Fubara to continue in office, rather than a mere solicitation for the governor. Abiant underscored the importance of grassroots initiatives and financial contributions from everyday citizens throughout the state.

He argued that the act of securing the nomination forms demonstrates democracy, emphasizing that the depth of support for Fubara is not solely determined by financial means but rather by the people's endorsement. Abiant highlighted Fubara's significant achievements in infrastructure and economic development, including projects like the Trans-Kalabari Road and Andoni access, as key reasons for their endorsement.
