Rivers Elders Secure APC Form for Fubara's Second Term

On Tuesday, elders from Rivers State purchased a governorship nomination form for the current Governor Siminalayi Fubara's second term under the All Progressives Congress (APC). The initiative was led by Hon.

Awaji Inombek Abiant, a member of the House of Representatives representing Andoni/Opobo Nkoro Federal Constituency. Abiant clarified that the governor did not initiate this process and emphasized that the decision was made without direct input from Fubara.

He stated that the action reflects public pressure rather than personal ambition, and the funding for the form came from ordinary citizens across the state, showcasing grassroots political participation. Abiant also highlighted ongoing projects under Fubara's administration, including infrastructure developments like the Tran Kalabari Road and Andoni access route, which aim to enhance the state's blue economy.

The governor has not publicly commented on the purchase of the form, leaving it uncertain whether he will formally accept this gesture.
