Olubadan Ladoja: Antecedents Matter for 2027 Elections

Oba Rasidi Ladoja, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, addressed journalists in Bodija, Ibadan, on Wednesday, emphasizing that the success of gubernatorial aspirants in the 2027 elections will depend on their antecedents rather than their names. Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo State, remarked that while it is not wrong for politicians to promote themselves using their names, the electorate will ultimately decide based on the candidates' past actions and reputations.

He also commented on the recent abduction of 39 students and a teacher in the Oriir local government area, describing the incident as sad and urging government security agencies to ensure their safe release. Ladoja expressed confidence that the government is doing its best to address the situation, although he refrained from disclosing specific details for security reasons.
