Wike Declares Makinde's Presidential Ambition Dead

Nyesom Wike, the Governor of Rivers State, publicly criticized Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo State, stating that Makinde's presidential ambition is "dead on arrival." This remark came after Makinde declared his intention to run for president on the platform of the Allied People's Movement (APM) in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Thursday. Makinde's declaration followed his signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with a faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

Wike also mentioned that Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State had previously spoken about the PDP-APM alliance, emphasizing that the narrative surrounding this political move is merely a political imagination. Wike made these comments while inspecting ongoing road projects in the Gomani Yangoj area of the Kwali Area Council in Abuja.

He further remarked on the situation within the APC, expressing concern over the membership of Sim Fubara, the Governor of Rivers State, and questioned why there were issues when no one had communicated any problems.
