Wike Declares Makinde's Presidential Ambition Dead

Nyesom Wike, the Governor of Rivers State, publicly criticized Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo State, regarding his presidential ambition, stating it is "dead on arrival." This remark followed Makinde's declaration of intent to run for president under the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Thursday. Makinde's announcement came after he signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

Wike emphasized that Makinde's ambition is doomed to fail, asserting that it is unfortunate to know the game plan and that it cannot succeed under the PDP flag. Wike also mentioned that Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State had previously spoken about the PDP-APM alliance, indicating that the narrative is merely political imagination.

Wike made these comments while inspecting ongoing road projects in the Gomani Yangoj area of the Kwali Area Council in Abuja.
