Igbawua Critiques Kwankwaso's Comments on Atiku

Chile Igbawua, the adviser to David Mark, the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), condemned Rabiu Kwankwaso, the vice-presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), for suggesting that Atiku Abubakar should step down from the 2027 presidential race. Kwankwaso made this statement during a meeting with the Fulani Farmers Association in Abuja, where he also mentioned that if the NDC wins, they would take care of Atiku.

Igbawua described Kwankwaso's remarks as insulting, questioning the rationale behind suggesting that winning an election should involve taking care of Atiku rather than addressing the needs of ordinary Nigerians. He argued that Kwankwaso's comments have caused significant damage to the NDC, creating a divide within the opposition.

Igbawua emphasized that such patronizing statements are irresponsible and do not reflect a genuine commitment to the electorate. Atiku Abubakar is set to run for president under the ADC, with Chibuike Amaechi as his running mate, while Peter Obi will contest as the NDC candidate.
