YPP Prepares for 2027 Elections with Strong Candidate Plans

The Young Progressives Party (YPP) declared its intention to field candidates for the 2027 general elections, including presidential and National Assembly positions. This announcement was made by the party's National Vice Chairman, Bless David, following a successful state congress in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

David expressed confidence in the party's ability to offer solutions to Nigeria's governance challenges and emphasized that the YPP aims to make significant inroads into grassroots politics. The party plans to hold its primary elections on May 29, 2026.

David rejected claims that the YPP is a minor political party, asserting its strong presence in at least ten states and its capability to produce lawmakers and governors. FCT State Chairman Abraham Adedotun reiterated the party's determination to provide the change Nigerians desire, while also addressing misconceptions about Nigerian youth.

The party is focused on engaging young people in politics ahead of the 2027 elections.
