Less Than 20 Million Nigerians Enrolled in Health Insurance Scheme

Acting Zonal Coordinator of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Alh Adamu Abdullahi, revealed that fewer than 20 million Nigerians have enrolled in the health insurance scheme nationwide. Abdullahi disclosed this information during a forum in Ilorin aimed at sensitizing stakeholders on the NHIA's policies and goals, including achieving universal health coverage by 2030.

He highlighted the agency's efforts to increase enrollment and improve service delivery by enhancing tariffs and accreditation standards. The NHIA is focused on ensuring efficiency and quality in healthcare services to meet the growing demand for accessible healthcare across Nigeria.
