Falana Urges Funding for Health Insurance Under NHIA Act for Nigerians

Femi Falana SAN, Chairman of Alliance Surviving Beyond ASCAB, urges Nigerian governments to allocate sufficient funds for health insurance following the enforcement of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) Act 2022. Falana emphasized the need for proper funding to achieve universal health coverage for all Nigerians, as mandated by the new law.

The NHIA Act aims to provide affordable and accessible healthcare by making health insurance compulsory and establishing a Basic Minimum Package of Care for citizens. Falana highlighted the significance of the NHIA Act in unifying the country's fragmented health insurance system and ensuring care for vulnerable groups like children, pregnant women, and the elderly.
