25 Osun Assembly Members Defect to Accord Party

On Friday, 25 members of the Osun State House of Assembly announced their defection from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the Accord Party. This move follows the earlier decision of Governor Ademola Adeleke to leave the PDP for the Accord Party in December 2025.

The announcement was made during a parliamentary meeting held at the banquet hall, where the Speaker, Olamid Tiamiyu, reaffirmed unwavering support for Governor Adeleke's leadership. The defecting lawmakers emphasized their commitment to ensuring continued development for the people of Osun State and urged their constituents to remain steadfast in this new political chapter.

Tiamiyu's statement indicated that the decision to join the Accord Party was made after extensive consultations with political stakeholders and was driven by the desire to advance the collective interests of the people. Notably, the defecting members included Speaker Adebayo Egbedun, while 26 members of the Assembly had previously left to join the opposition party, the Progress Congress.
