Five PDP Lawmakers Join APC in Osun State Defection

On Saturday, five lawmakers from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The defectors include two senators: Francis Fadahunsi, representing Osun East, and Olubiyi Fadeyi, representing Osun Central, along with three members of the House of Representatives: Olusanya Omirin (Ijesa South), Wole Ok (Ijesa North), and Taofeek Ajilesoro (Ife Central).

Gboyega Oyetola, the APC leader and former governor, welcomed the new members, describing their addition as significant for the party. He urged party members to intensify their campaign efforts ahead of the governorship election scheduled for August 8, 2026, stressing the need for unity and grassroots mobilization to reclaim Osun State and ensure the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Oyetola emphasized that the APC is a family and that their collective efforts will secure a brighter future for the children of Osun.
