Kwara State Distributes 14,180 Tree Seedlings to 255 Schools for Economic Impact

Kwara State Government, in collaboration with Resilience Landscapes ACReSAL, distributed 14,180 cocoa, cashew, oil palm, and orange tree seedlings to 255 schools in the state. The project aims to have an educational and economic impact by teaching students about crop production and potentially generating revenue for schools through agricultural ventures.

Commissioner Mary Arinde highlighted the importance of the initiative, benefiting 80 primary schools, 170 secondary schools, and five tertiary institutions. The long-term goal is to enhance food security and promote agricultural activities like animal husbandry and fishery.

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's commitment to food security was praised, emphasizing the significance of the seedling distribution in boosting the agricultural sector.
