28 House Reps Defect to Different Parties Ahead of Primaries

In a significant political shift, 28 members of the House of Representatives have defected to different political parties ahead of the upcoming primaries. The defections span across major parties including the All Progressives Congress (APC), People's Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

Notable defectors include Philip Agbe from the APC, who moved to the PDP, and Akanni Clement from the Labour Party to the PDP. Other significant moves include Ademola Boluwaduro and Ifedayo Ila from Osun State switching from the Labour Party to the PDP, and Ugochinyer Ikeagwuonu from Imo State moving from the PDP to the Action Peoples Party (APP).

The defections are attributed to internal crises within the respective political parties. This trend indicates a reshuffling of political alliances as the primaries approach, with smaller parties also losing members to larger rivals.
