Osawaru Aims for Nigeria's Presidency Amid Growing Profile

Osawaru, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly representing the Egor Constituency, announced her intention to become Nigeria's president during her grandfather Gabriel Igbinedion's 92nd birthday celebration in Benin City, Edo State. She expressed her admiration for Igbinedion, affectionately referring to him as her “baby,” and promised to achieve her presidential ambition while he is still alive.

Osawaru was recently appointed the Minority Leader of the Edo State House of Assembly, a role she described as a trust rather than just a title. Her political aspirations are gaining attention, especially as she is married to the popular singer 2Baba, whom she wed in July 2025, following his separation from his former wife, Annie Macaulay Idibia.

The marriage has drawn significant public interest, particularly regarding the circumstances of 2Baba's previous relationship, although he has denied claims that Osawaru was responsible for the breakdown of his marriage to Annie.
