Natasha Osawaru Promises Presidency to Grandfather Igbinedion

On September 13, 2023, Natasha Osawaru, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly representing Egor Constituency and currently serving as the Minority Leader, made a bold promise to her grandfather, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, during his 92nd birthday celebration. In a heartfelt address at the event held in honor of Igbinedion, the Esama of Benin Kingdom, Natasha expressed her affection for him, stating that he had grown “sweeter and better” with age.

She declared, “I promise you that I’ll be the president of this country before you go. And I’ll make you very, very proud, and I promise to do better and better.” Natasha also prayed for Igbinedion's long life, wishing he would reach the age of 150.

This declaration has sparked reactions online and underscores her commitment to her political aspirations as she continues to build her profile in Edo politics. Natasha is also known as the wife of Nigerian music star Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, with whom she welcomed their first child in November 2025.
