Ekiti Court Sentences Three to Death for Conspiracy and Armed Robbery

In a recent ruling at the Ekiti State High Court in Ado Ekiti, three individuals named Lasisi Afeez, Yemi Sar, Ilesanmi Seun, and Ajewole Peter were sentenced to death by hanging for their involvement in conspiracy and armed robbery. The defendants were arraigned on four counts, including conspiracy, armed robbery, and unlawful possession of firearms, under the Criminal Law of Ekiti State 2021.

The prosecution, led by Julius Ajibar, successfully presented evidence, including witness testimonies and exhibits such as car documents, guns, and mobile phones. The court found the defendants guilty on counts two and three, related to conspiracy and armed robbery, while acquitting them on count four.

Justice Lekan Ogunmoy pronounced the death sentence, emphasizing the seriousness of the offenses committed. The case stemmed from a planned robbery at Maxwell Hospital on Ifesowapo Street, Nova Road, Ado Ekiti.

The judgment highlighted the importance of upholding the law and ensuring justice for victims of crime.
